The first phase of this year’s national sitting volleyball championship is scheduled to get underway on December 22 in both the men and women’s categories, according to the Rwanda National Paralympics Committee (NPC). Last year, Gisagara won the national league in the men’s league, while in Bugesera won the league in the women’s category. NPC president Jean-Baptiste Murema said the national sitting volleyball league will be played in four phases; the first phase starts on December 22, the second on March 2, 2019, the third phase on April 6, 2019, and the fourth set on May 11. The athletics national league starts February 16, amputee football February 23, wheelchair basketball league on February 9, and the two-day Genocide memorial tournament on June 15, 2019.
