New Rayon Sports acquisition Eric ‘Radu’ Iradukunda is confident in his decision to join the Blues and is ready to help the club compete for honours starting with the upcoming 2018-19 season. The right-back signed a two-year renewable contract with Rayon Sports on Wednesday, ending a five-year stint with league side AS Kigali where he had played since 2013. After holding his first training session in Rayon Sports’ shirt on Thursday, Iradukunda said: “The club has quality and talented players in its ranks, I believe we will have a successful season. It is a great honour for me to be associated with Rayon Sports. I am excited to join a club I love.” “I have loved Rayon since I was very little. Getting a chance to play for the club is a dream come true. I am happy and determined to contribute to its rich history,” he added. Besides the arrival of full-back Iradukunda, the eight-time Rwandan champions have also completed the signing of former Musanze FC forward Suleiman Mudeyi – also on a two-year contract – whose deal will see him featuring the club till end of the 2019/2020 season. “I am ready for the new chapter, and the new challenge. The move to Rayon Sports was an easy decision to make. It’s every player’s wish (in Rwanda) to play for such a big team,” Mudeyi said.
