Mukura football club on Friday, January 21 announced that they had fired Emmanuel Ruremesha as club head coach after a string of poor results in the Rwanda premier league. The Huye-based club have had a poor season under Ruremesha whose performance have been questioned by the club management since the beginning of December as he failed to impress in the ongoing top flight league campaign. The tactician has struggled to help Mukura to rediscover their form and a string of poor results saw him suspended in December with the club management saying they wanted to assess his performances but he was later recalled and given another chance. Assistant coach Canisius Nshimiyimana assumes the caretaker role at the club until the management appoints a new head coach. Under Ruremesha, Mukura managed only three victories in 12 league games and, as a result, sit 11th on the league table.
