Wednesday Mali vs Rwanda (Agadir, 9:00pm Kigali time) The national football team will take on Mali in a make-or-break in the 2022 world Cup qualifiers slated for Wednesday, September, 1 in Agadir in Morocco 9pm Kigali time Amavubi head coach Vincent Mashami is optimistic his side can defeat Mali, knowing that that’s the only way they can continue their quest for qualification to World’s biggest football showpiece. “We need to win our match and see what happens in the other group game between Ghana and Mali,” Mashami told journalists on Tuesday. A win against Mali would keep Amavubi’s chances against Kenya in the second game which is slated for September 5 at Amahoro Stadium. “We know it won’t be an easy game as we are going to face one of the best teams in Africa, but we are ready for the challenge, we will give everything to win the game. We have big ambitions and will do everything to win,” Mashami noted. Abdul Rwatubyaye, Thierry Manzi, Rafael York, Yannick Mukunzi, Dhihad Bizimana and Emmanuel Imanishimwe joined the rest of the team on Monday. Rwanda is placed bottom among the four Group E teams in the latest Fifa rankings and will be hoping to have a better campaign after failing to qualify for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
