Bralirwa on Wednesday unveiled 10 contestants for its annual flagship music competition, Primus Guma-Guma Super Star – Season 8. The contestants will compete for the country’s most coveted music award over the course of three months, in eight road shows. The artistes were announced yesterday at a news conference, which was attended by journalists from different local media institutions and music showbiz personalities. Active They were nominated by media houses, deejays (in groups), and production houses – each with one vote, totaling 35 votes. This year’s competition will see aspiring hip-hop artistes Jay C and Khalfan take part in the competition for their first time. The voting procedure was facilitated by Bralirwa, the official sponsors of the competition, in partnership with East African Promoters and Price Water Coopers. The competition has been running since 2011. Tom Close won the first edition, then King James, Riderman, Jay Polly and Knowless Butera, Urban Boys and Dream Boys. Jay C.
