For the ninth time in a row, Cogebanque, one of the sponsors of the ongoing Tour du Rwanda 2021 has launched a campaign dubbed ‘Tuzamurane’. Through the campaign, the Bank seeks to take its services closers to its customers who are following the cycling tournament. Arguably the biggest sporting event in the country, the race was initially due to take place in February, but it was postponed following a spike in new Covid-19 cases. This year’s event is happening under strict Covid-19 guidelines, which include banning the public from the streets in order to avoid the virus spread. “With this in mind, we too as the bank had to re-think our tactics for the event and have decided on pushing our digital banking channels, loans and savings products as we feel that these are what our customers and potential customers really need to best cope with these times financially,” a statement from the Bank reads in part. This, the Bank says, will be done through roadshows, branding, activations and media publications. “In addition, we will be partnering with Cogebanque Agents and branch network during the campaign to ensure that our services are as accessible as possible to our customers, while still strictly following the Covid-19 prevention protocols,” the statement further reads. Under this year’s theme “TUGENDANE”, loosely translated as ‘let’s walk together’, Cogebanque believes that in these difficult financial times “our customers should feel that we as their banking partner are doing whatever it takes to walk/manoeuvre through these hard times with them.” During the campaign, people who have actively been depositing and saving money on their Cogebanque accounts prior and during the campaign period will be selected through a draw, and the lucky winners will be awarded at the different Tour du Rwanda arrivals. Prizes will include cash and branded materials, among others. The campaign will run for two months, during and after Tour du Rwanda event, thus allowing customers to enjoy the benefits that come with the campaign and Cogebanque’s services. As the tournament’s sponsor, Cogebanque will be awarding “The best climber” on all the 8 stages, an award that the Bank says is proud to be associated with, “ as we relate it to the beauty of our 1000 hills and the Made in Rwanda trademark that we too represent as a bank” Cogebanque has 28 branches, over 600 agents and 36 ATMs across the country. These are supported by Mobile banking (USSD on *505# and Mobile App “Coge mBank”), Cards (Mastercards and Smart cash) and internet banking delivery channels accessible through different media.
