Twenty-five outstanding entrepreneurs were selected on Thursday, June 10th, 2021 out of 174 applicants for the annual BK Urumuri initiative 5th edition. Through the campaign, the entrepreneurs will benefit from a six months business accelerator program that includes business training and consultancy from Inkomoko Entrepreneur Development as well as a chance to secure a 0% interest loan from the Bank of Kigali. According to the Bank of Kigali, for this year’s edition, they chose to focus on innovative businesses that look to trigger a solution to Rwanda’s most pressing need for self-reliance, driving the country’s economic growth. “Our partnership with Inkomoko continues this year focusing on helping businesses to recover from the Covid-19 shocks. We encourage entrepreneurs to make good use of opportunities presented to them, such as the BK Urumuri Initiative,” said Dr. Diane Karusisi, Bank of Kigali CEO. On the other hand, Inkomoko’s Managing Director, Teta Ndejuru, welcomed the selected entrepreneurs to the new phase of their journey towards business growth. “We are grateful for this continued partnership with the Bank of Kigali to support innovative entrepreneurs from Rwanda’s fast-growing SME sector,” Ndejuru said.
