LOCAL style house, Bianca Fashion, which recently opened shop in Rwanda, will showcase its collection dubbed BFHS & B Collection at the second edition of Bianca Fashion Hub 250 slated for August 20 at Canal Olympia, Rebero. This year’s edition, according to the founder of the fashion house, Daphine Uwamwezi Mugire, popularly known as Bianca Baby, is an amplified edition which will bring together regional fanatics of fashion along with top entertainers to amuse the crowd. Speaking to The New Times, Uwamwezi says that this edition also aims to recognise Rwandan fashion and create a showroom for all fashion enthusiasts in the country. She further notes that this time, the event will be different with special guests, including Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo as the main headliner of the event alongside celebrated TV presenter, Sheilah Gashumba, who will be the red carpet host. Abryanz, a top fashion designer in Uganda, will also attend the fashion event as one of the judges of the red carpet, according to organisers. Eddy Kenzo and Sheilah Gashumba will be at the event. Photos/Net “In the previous edition, we demonstrated Rwandan youth’s desire for fashion as well as the potential to expand the Rwandan fashion industry,” Uwamwezi says, adding, “We aim to create a state-of-the-art fashion showroom for all kinds of fashion enthusiasts in the future and host more red carpet events in Rwanda. Asked how the Rwandan fashion industry stands today, Uwamwezi says that it is still a grey area with potential to grow and get the youth involved to create their own opportunities. She says that it will also be a huge opportunity for any business to grab the audience’s attention through marketing, and definitely promote Rwandan youth capabilities in advancing the fashion industry. It is an annual event with elevation in the status drawn from lessons learnt in each show, to bring together fashion enthusiasts and fanatics to celebrate and express themselves through customised style by individuals.
