News trending on the entertainment scene is the saga about fast-rising Gospel Duo Vestine Ishimwe and Kamikazi Dorcas’ family in a row with the singers’ promoter Irene Murindahabi. However, the young gospel crew recently announced that they are keeping Murindahabi as their manager, after the two parties made peace. After an official detailed letter by Elizabeth Uzamukunda was released on behalf of the girls’ family asking the promoter to peacefully part ways with the duo, their mother made her way from Kigali to Musanze. Upon arriving, she was asked to be interviewed in a press conference she knew nothing about. “Our mum suddenly found herself in front of cameras and the journalists started posing questions to her questions, but she does not really like to be in the spotlight,” Vestine said in an interview. Re-union Two days after the press conference, Murindahabi held an interview on his YouTube channel interviewing the duo. Even though they were in company of their mother, she declined to participate in the interview. Asked to comment on the issue, both Vestine and Dorcas described the issue as the devil’s plan and revealed that they held a two-day prayer and fasting to dedicate the matter to God. “We knew the devil was behind this, so we began fasting and praying, knowing that this is the challenge we have to endure, since the challenges are things we know are in the journey, we were not surprised,” commented the duo. During the interview, they also praised God, quoting some of the verses in their songs, “The battle in the middle field, God fought it from the roots”, which quoted in their song, “Nahawe Ijambo”. Both the interviewer and the interviewees confirmed that there is no wrangle between them. “I am holding this interview to show you that there is no problem at all”, said Murindahabi as the duo nods. Mulindahabi concluded the interview dismissing claims of the letter which he said was not written by Uzamukunda. “I talked to the mother of these artistes and she explained to me that she is not the one who wrote the letter,” he commented. “This is just the beginning of our music career to serve the Lord,” the duo added. The story between the gospel duo and Murindahabi has attracted different reactions on social media platforms, with some asking social media users not to escalate the issue as it involves minors.
