Regional collaborations are set to be one of the defining aspects of DJ Pius’s upcoming Iwacu album launch. The artiste has set August 3 to 4, as dates for two album launch concerts for the 15-track album in Kigali and Musanze respectively. Among the collaborations on the album is Mana we (Oh my God), with Tanzanian songstress Lady Jaydee. Jaydee was recently in the country, where she hooked up with Pius to shoot a video for their single. Shot by Meddy Saleh of Press It Productions, the video is now in post-production stage. The video shoot was concluded on Wednesday, this week, before Jaydee jetted back to Tanzania. Earlier in the year, Pius and Meddy Saleh travelled to Tanzania from where some of the scenes for the video were shot. Apart from Jaydee, Pius also collaborates with various regional artistes on different songs off the album. These include Jose Chamelone, Radio and Weasel, and Ray Signature from Uganda, MC Galaxy and Solid Star from Nigeria, and Magnom from Ghana. The last video that DJ Pius released from songs off the upcoming album is called, Too bad, his collaboration with Ray Signature. The album launch event in Kigali will take place at Camp Kigali on August 3, before heading to Musanze Stadium in Musanze District the following day. The shows will be spiced up by guest appearances from siblings Jose Chameleone, Pallaso and Weasel from Uganda, and Burundian artiste Big Fizzo, among others. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
