Wednesday Quarter-finals F.A.P Vs. Zamalek 5:30 PM A.S. Salé Vs. Atlético Petróleos de Luanda 9 PM It will be a battle of titans when two giants Atlético Petróleos de Luanda from Angola and AS Salé of Morocco go head-to-head in the quarter-finals of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) at the Kigali Arena on Wednesday, May 26. This is not the first time the two clubs are meeting, having played against each other in the group stages. Atlético Petróleos de Luanda came out on the winning side, beating A.S. Salé 97-78 points. Now, they are set to rub shoulders in the quarterfinals, as they vie for a place in the semis of the highly-rated tournament. Coming out of the Group stages, AS Salé and Petro de Luanda have played attractive basketball and can arguably be rated among teams that will go far into the tournament. To beat Petro de Luanda, AS Salé will need to respond to the aggressiveness of the Angolans who play with physicality, skill and prowess. As for Petro, they will have to deal with the organised game that the Moroccans play, so as to increase their chances of winning the game. Meanwhile, on Thursday, the home crowd will be behind local champions Patriots Basketball Club who will be taking on Ferroviario de Maputo.
