AUTHORITIES IN NYAMAGABE District have recovered a decomposing body of a man who went missing about a year ago. Detectives have been seeking clues to the whereabouts of Francois Minani, 34, until Monday morning when they discovered his body in Masangano Cell, Musange Sector. Earlier reports had suggested that Minani might have fled the country but investigators had failed to establish any reason to back up such a possibility. The deceased’s wife is being held to help with the investigations, according to the Southern Region Police Spokesperson Hubert Gashagaza. The 30-year-old woman has confessed to killing Minani, Gashagaza told The New Times on Tuesday. “The suspect was arrested in Kigali as she attempted to flee,” Gashagaza said. “She has since confessed and is the one who indicated where the body had been dumped.” It remains unclear why the woman could have killed her husband. The suspect was by press time detained at Gasaka Police Station as Police have already hand her dossier to prosecution. The woman is likely to face the charges of murder and, if convicted, faces life in jail. Gashagaza called on the public to combat domestic violence and avoid conflicts in their families. By doing so, the society could avert deaths that are results of family feuds, Gashagaza said.
