NORTHERN PROVINCE GICUMBI — Members of the Private Sector Foundation (PSF), in Gicumbi district have pledged to provide selected materials for the 253 houses constructed for Genocide survivors. Gratien Mupenzi, the area PSF president said members resolved to set up a minimum contribution towards the purchase of doors and windows for the completion of the houses. The decision was reached at during their meeting with district and grassroots leaders at the district this Tuesday. Mupenzi said that PSF would also support efforts aimed at eradicating poverty in order to achieve development in the district. “The first batch of doors and windows shall be availed this Saturday to close to 200 houses during the next community work (Umuganda),” said Mupenzi. At the meeting, the district Mayor Bonane Nyangezi hailed the private Sector for their contribution towards the development of the district. “The steady development of this district is attributed to the private sector that pays their taxes on time,” said Nyangezi. He also advised the private sector to invest in the construction of residential and commercial buildings to increase their incomes. In addition, he advised them to adopt rabbits and poultry farming, saying they generate quick income and have ready market from the local community. Ends
