Amagaju name Okoko as new coach

Former La Jeunesse FC coach Godfroid Okoko has been appointed as the head coach of Amagaju on a one-year contract that will take him through the remainder of the 2013/14 Turbo King Football League.Okoko, who has been without a job since La Jeunesse pulled out of the top flight league, takes over from Abdu Mbarushimana, who resigned after failing to garner even a point in the first five matches of the season.My task is to ensure that Amagaju can get away from the relegation zone. I am yet to know the kind of the players the club has got since I havent started work, but I will do whatever it takes to get the players up their game. I am sure they know we are in a delicate situation, added Okoko. Known for his hard work and great resilience, Okoko transformed Mukura from a relegation-threatened club to title contenders when they were bottom in the league standings and guided them to second place in 2011/12 season.He joined La Jeunesse at the start of 2012/13 season and the Burundian-born coach helped the Nyamirambo-based side improve on their last campaign where they finished sixth.Assistant coach Pablo Nduwimana earned the first point for Amagaju on Wednesday as the Nyamagabe-based club forced AS Muhanga to a 1-all draw in the sixth round of the Turbo King Football league.The Southern Province-based side are placed at bottom of the standings with one point in six matches, having conceded 11 goals.
