Relationships are like a jungle. In the jungle you find all sorts of predators, both male and female. But if you are not careful, you will carry a beast home. It is said that people need to find a suitable ‘help meet’ or companion. How then do you define a suitable help meet? If you do not know how to define a suitable help meet then that simply means that you do not know what you are looking for. That means you are looking for anything. Have you thought of writing down a check list for your suitable help meet? Before you rush into ‘I do’ with little or even no idea about whom you are saying I do to, think about a few things. Are you fun to be with? Do you have goals or success recipes? What is it you have to offer? Before running off to love someone else, find out what it is you love about yourself. You may have been in and out of relationships, collecting a lot of experience in the field but the truth is, you can never be too prepared! As a matter of fact your tolerance decreases over time and you will look out for things you didn’t imagine would matter. You will no longer want to reason and barely think through issues but rely on emotions. It is said love is blind. I do not believe it, if one purposely keeps their mind open. If you choose to close your head and eyes, when you finally open them, you will realise that the fellow does not even have a job! Or he probably has no clue on how to treat a woman; perhaps has no morals and lacks standards. That’s the beast you brought home. Get rid of all the junk you have collected over the years. Every one of us has junk so deal with yours ahead of time; do not be burdened with someone else’s. Quit looking on the outside, or else you will carry a wolf home thinking it’s a sheep. We tend to ignore what’s inside because we are caught up with the outer appearance, the way they dress, the car they drive and how much they earn. Look beyond the superficial stuff.
