Editor, Please allow me to comment on Sunny Ntayombya’s article, “The youth will redefine the ‘Rwandan Dream’”, (The New Times, October 23).It’s a good read. It subjects one to reflect on the recent developments in Rwanda and its generation of Agaciro and all that there is. However, one needs to understand the level of technology advancement, and the access to internet in Rwanda to appreciate the access of social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, among others, to determine the success of your study.I would put it that this was really subjective a study and it was point hitting on the group of Rwandans that could as well culminate into the elite with big dreams of a house in Nyarutarama, a fine car, dining in Serena Hotel, swimming at Umubano Hotel, doing grocery shopping in Nakumatt and having a beer or whisky at the finest place that there is in Kigali. This might breed ground for a huge appetite for more to sustain such lifestyle. There is a great deal of simplicity if one assumed that this might create a generation of youth that will realise the ‘Rwandan Dream’. I would defer with the opinion that these very youth would necessarily deliver the ‘Rwandan Dream’.The availability of resources that would strengthen the pillars of an affordable standard of living is what will help realise this dream. In conclusion, the ‘Rwandan Dream’ is and will only be realised by having an affordable standard of living for all Rwandans.Ayub Ahmed Mwenda, Kampala
