The track “Early detection is the best protection,” was last Saturday, released by the Rwandan midwives association in collaboration with Breast Cancer Initiative East Africa Inc.This was during a fundraising dinner held at Kigali Serena Hotel. The event was attended by several stakeholders, breast cancer survivors and artistes. Indian solo artiste Tony Remedios performed. Speaking about the initiative, Anne N. Rugege, the Executive Director of Breast Cancer Initiative East Africa (BCIEA) Inc, said, “Through this campaign we want people to know that knowledge is power and together we can save lives. This means that getting the information will enable many to go for check-ups regularly.” Rugege added that the song will help in the awareness campaign for breast cancer among Rwandans. The song is both in Kinyarwanda and English to help all Rwandans get the message.Breast Cancer Initiative East Africa Inc (BCIEA) is a non- profit organisation dedicated to take the lead in the advancement of breast cancer surveillance and improved survival rates targeted to the most neglected population in the low income communities of East Africa.
