Relationships: You get what you deserve not what you desire

My old man once told me that when it comes to relationships, we don’t get what we desire but exactly what we deserve. If you asked me then, though I didn’t fully believe him, it sounded fair to me. Growing up, I lived the experience and now I do believe and listen to him even more.From an early age I knew getting an ideal partner depended mostly on me and how I carry myself. Trash attracts trash and an easy goer attracts easy goers too. This is why today I find it droll when some women claim they want and deserve real men when there is absolutely nothing real about them. I used to get upset seeing some women, especially young ones, dress like hookers or behave inappropriately. But now I think I developed a thick skin and converted the anger into some kind of enjoyment.I watch and listen to them as they dream of having a real man; a man who will be proud of them, respect them, treat them like a princess and give them a ring! Well, that’s a nice dream but unless you change your poor ways, it will remain that, a dream.You will find a lady whose eyebrows are long gone and are now replaced by some kind of paint; her hair covered by synthetic hair pieces, lips smeared with thick layers of lipsticks, clad in God knows what, looking for a real man! Some men like women who slip in and out of foreign accents, wear 12 inch pair of stilettos and drink Heineken. To them this kind of woman looks like she has ‘game’. And what’s wrong with having a little fun? For starters, she looks like she’s got nothing to lose. This kind of woman usually has many guys around her, and she will often misinterpret this as being attractive but in actual sense, cheap commodities attract many buyers.If you are a woman living such a life, especially in this country, in less than just one year you will be more notorious than Joseph Kony. And no one will ever want to be seen with you. But don’t despair; you will attract your kind, a man who is equally lousy and trashy, and a man who doesn’t mind the usual drama that comes with dating women your type. A man who has nothing to lose or a reputation to keep! At the end of the day, we all get what we deserve. The good news is you can change from good to bad or bad to good and settle down with the partner of your choice.
