PRESIDENT Paul Kagame is excited after English club Arsenal beat Italy’s Napoli in Uefa Champions League on Tuesday to maintain their return to winning ways this season. Mesut Ozil scored his first goal since his £42m move from Real Madrid and created Olivier Giroud’s second in the 2-0 victory that puts Arsenal top of Group F after two wins. Ozil has made 15 assists in the Champions League since August 2010, more than any other player in the competition in that time. After the game, President Kagame tweeted, “Enjoyed watching (the) game at Emirates. Congratulations #AWenger & Arsenal. Back to winning ways of old & beautiful game!” Last year, Wenger was under fire as President Kagame, one of Arsenal’s high profile supporters, threw his weight behind disgruntled Gunners fans calling on the Frenchman to leave the Emirates. Wenger has been Arsenal manager since 1996, but he has gone seven years without a trophy and his aura is fading after previously being feted as the North London club’s greatest boss. But the bright start to this season makes Arsenal one of early favourite to win the 2013/14 Barclays English Premier League title and possibly the Uefa Champions League.
