Rwanda football governing body, Ferwafa and local breweries company, Bralirwa are set to officially sign a Rwf170m league sponsorship deal today at the federation’s headquarters in Remera.According to Ferwafa secretariat, the Turbo National Football League sponsorship signing ceremony will be preceded by a friendly match between the teams of both institutions at Ferwafa artificial turf. “We have agreed a sponsorship worth Rwf170 million for the upcoming Turbo league. The sponsorship contract which will be signed on Friday(today), will be for one year and renewable,” said Ferwafa chairman Celestin Ntagungira.Bralirwa has been sponsoring the league under their brand Primus but unlike in football, the brand has made a big impact in the music industry as it has exposed potential talents in the annual Primus Guma Guma Super Star.In 2012, Bralirwa Ltd injected Rwf160 million into the league for one season. The sponsorship package covered the 2012/13 national football league, with 47 per cent of the amount directly benefiting clubs through prize money and participation fees with an aim of improving the standard of local football. The 2013/14 league starts tomorrow with five matches on card and will climax on May 24, 2014.
