Last Sunday, KBC registered double victories over APR 54-49 and a 90-71 win over United Generation basketball club (UGB). UGB had a weekend to forget about after losing their second game to Rusizi 76-54. KBC head coach Cyrille Kalima told Times Sport, “I am happy for the way my club played last Sunday. Our focus is now on the decisive match against Espoir on Sunday,” “We want to win all our second round games matches and if we could beat Espoir, then this would open our gates to success this season.” In the women’s league, Ubumwe basketball club lost to defending champions APR 38-56 on Saturday, but recovered to beat Rwanda Allied Peace for Progress 70-50 on Sunday. Espoir still have five matches to play while other contenders KBC and Rusizi remain with three and two games, respectively. Rusizi BBC now top the standings with 17 points, KBC is second with 16 points while defending champions Espoir are third with 14 points.
