Business low at the bourse

Bank of Kigali was the only busy counter at the bourse yesterday, trading 7,300 shares in four deals valued at Rwf1.3m.Last Tuesday, the Bralirwa counter traded 1,800 shares in two deals worth Rwf1.5m. Bank of Kigali counter together with Kenya Commercial Bank and Nation Media Group counters were quiet.However, Bank of Kigali’s share price remained unchanged at Rwf180 while the brewer’s went up by Rwf1 to close at Rwf850 yesterday compared to last Tuesday. This led the Rwanda Stock Exchange Share Index to go up marginally by 0.2 points to close at 218.9 points yesterday from 218.7 last Tuesday.Kenya Commercial Bank shares last transacted at Rwf175, while Nation Media Group shares last transacted at Rwf1,200.At the end of formal trading hours, there were outstanding offers of 431,800 Bank of Kigali shares between Rwf180 and Rwf196 and no outstanding bids.On the Bralirwa counter, there were outstanding offers of 114,200 shares at between Rwf850 and Rwf890 and no outstanding bids. At the Kenya Commercial Bank counter, there was an outstanding bid of 5,000 shares at Rwf180 and no outstanding offers.
