In first game of the day, Gilbert Yaoundé Kanyankore’s Kiyovu beat the 2013 Peace Cup winners AS Kigali 1-0. The lone goal scored by the former Police and AS Kigali striker Laudt Mavugu through a penalty on 20th minutes. Andrew Gasambungo’s ten-man AS Kigali were the better team in the first half and for the most of the second half despite losing centre back Ratif Bishira, who was sent off for the resulting spot kick in the first half. In the second semi-final, league champions Rayon Sports beat their Southern Province rivals, Mukura Victor Sport 3-1. Ugandan striker Frasson Jakeshi, on trials at the Nyanza-based team scored a brace, while skipper Faudi Ndayisenga netted the third. Hussein Kiiza netted Mukura’s consolation. Like, AS Kigali in the first semis, Mukura also ended the game with ten men after midfielder Hassan Pappy Harerimana was sent off by referee Issa Kagabo after a nasty challenge on Rayon Sports young midfielder Jihad Bizimana. After the game Rayon Sport head coach Didier Gomez da Roza said, “We knew this was going to be very tough game but we are happy to win, and now looking forward tomorrow’s final against Kiyovu.
