My son loves to play from the neighbour’s

My son loves to play with his friend from the neighbourhood. Sometimes, however, I find it difficult to tell them to stop or to tell the neighbour’s child that it is time to go home without coming off like a party spoiler. However it is important for the children to know about some boundaries as they play. First of all you must let your child know that there are times when it is ok to play and when it is not. The children need to know that family time is also very important. In case you need to rest while the children are playing then it helps to remind them to play from outside but without making too much noise while at it. Such a move will teach your child and his friend that their enjoyment should not be a disturbance to others. You can also use the children’s play time to get them to do some house chores. I know of a parent who always insists that his son should first tidy up his room before he can be allowed to play with his friends. Even before thinking of the chores, there are children who will make it a habit to just come to your home straight from school. The rule here should always be that one goes home first before coming over to play. More importantly, you should find the time to discuss your child’s playing habits and schedules with the parents of his next door neighbour.
