Dieudonne Disi (Pictured above) will be among hundreds of international athletes battling for gold in the Gaz de Saint-Denis championship tonight at Stade France in the French capital Paris. Rwanda’s Olympic medal hopeful told Times Sport on Wednesday from Paris through an e-mail message that he is excited about participating in tonight’s Meeting as he works to improve on his pace ahead of the Beijing Olympic Games set for August 8-24, China. “I will take part in 3000m as away of improving on my speed but in Beijing, I will compete in 10.000m,” he said. The 27-year-old, 10.000m and half marathon national record holder faces stiff challenge from Kenya’s 3000m world record holder Daniel Komen as well as several other top Kenyan athletes. Among them will be; Chebii Abraham, Joseph Ebuya, Bernard Kiplagat, Shadrack Kosgei, Thomas Longosiwa, Edwin Soi Cheruiyor, Boniface Kiprotich, Wondimum Mulugeta and Ethiopia’s Abreham Fekele. Other international athletes in the event include 30000m French national record holder Essaid Mustapha, and Republic of Ireland’s Cragg Alistair. Ends
