Commodity prices stable

Prices for most commodities across major markets are stable, including bananas that had increased by Rwf20 a kilogramme last week.A kilogramme of bananas costs between Rwf165 and Rwf185, millet flour is at Rwf1,220 per kilo, while that of maize flour goes for Rwf670 in Nyarugenge and Kimironko markets. Sugar costs Rwf800 a kilo with bread (one kilogramme) at between Rwf1,000 and Rwf1,200, depending on the brand, in most city supermarkets.Irish potatoes cost Rwf190 and Rwf200 in Nyabugogo and Nyamirambo markets, respectively. Rice goes for Rwf700 and Rwf1,000 in Kicukiro and Remera markets.A kilogramme of tomatoes is at Rwf700 and carrots Rwf500. Groundnuts cost Rwf1,200 per kilo and fresh peas go for Rwf1,250 a kilogramme in Kimironko market.Beef costs between Rwf2000 and Rwf2300 in Remera and Kimironko, respectively.Laundry soap is at Rwf600 (six grammes), a litre of cooking oil goes for Rwf1,500, passion fruits cost between Rwf1,300 and Rwf1,400 a kilogramme, while a litre of milk is at Rwf400. A tray of eggs costs Rwf2,000.
