Editor,This is with reference to Pan Butamire’s article, “We are called to force the dream”, published in The New Times edition of August 30.It is hard to understand the bias of the neocolonialists. When the powerful western governments keep repeating the narrative of (DRC Spokesperson) Lambert Mende and Monusco, while they know very well that these are both party to the problem (if not the cause), it becomes clear that this is hypocrisy bordering racism. You cannot be the prosecutor and judge at the same time. Whoever is pulling the strings in the DRC conflict is taking Africans for a ride; they assume that we are so stupid that we can’t see the injustice that’s being perpetuated. The days of colonisation are over; the world of the 21st century is (or at least should be) one for partnerships and mutual respect.Edmundo, Kigali, Rwanda
