Habumuremyi campaigns for RPF in Musanze District

Commissioner of Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF-Inkotanyi) Pierre Damien Habumuremyi on Tuesday told Musanze residents that the ruling party knows the needs of the people and will always strive to champion the country’s development. Habumuremyi, also the Prime Minister, said this as the RPF-led coalition campaigned in the area, ahead of the Septmber 16 poll. The rally brought together thousands of party supporters, in Remera sector, braving an afternoon sunshine. “RPF knows and values all your expectations, and will never disappoint Rwandans at any point. As we have done before, we shall continue to strive to improve the welfare of Rwandans, we have a rich development agenda, which includes the plan to extend water and electricity to all,” said Habumuremyi, telling the faithful that the RPF needed people’s mandate to accomplish these projects. Other areas he said RPF would continue to improve are health facilities, through constructing more hospitals, and increasing and equipping schools across the country. He urged Musanze residents to play their role in forthcoming elections and keep working together with the party to achieve what they deserve under the ruling party’s leadership. “You have to use effectively the opportunities the RPF has provided. For instance, if we have ensured security everywhere, it does not mean you should just sleep, simply because the country is safe...you have to work hard to uproot poverty.” “As women, we have achieved a lot under RPF; before this leadership we knew nothing about our rights, we were just subjects of our husbands, others were kept in some sort of servitude,” said Daphrose Nyirabapagasi, an elderly woman from Murwa Cell, Remera Sector in Musanze District. Courtesy of the RPF leadership, she said she now has a cow which gives her family milk and manure for her farm. “We have achieved a lot and the future is bright, RPF did a lot in difficult times and no doubt it will do even greater things, we want health and education to top the agenda,” said Cecile Ntanumwengira.
