Four Rwandan tennis players have started their campaign in the second leg of the ITF Africa Junior Circuit tournament which kicked off on Monday at the Nairobi club in Kenya.The tournament is for players in the 14 & under and 12 & under age categories. It has attracted 89 entries from around Africa. This is the second major event after the Africa Junior Championships in March.Rwanda is represented by Brian Ndahiro and Fabrice Tuyishime in the men category and Clenia Niyonshima and Evelyn Kwizera in the women category.In the first leg, none of the Rwandan players managed to reach the medal standings as they were all sent packing in the second round of the singles and doubles competitions.In the men singles, Under-14 category, Tuyishime is expected to start against Burundian Omari Kasalo, with Ndahiro facing another Burundian Ntamba Radjabu on Tuesday.In the women category, Kwizera takes on Agnes Nyokabi of Kenya, while Niyonshima faces Caroline Mutindi of Kenya in the Under 12 category.The tournament is co-supported by the Confederation of Africa Tennis and International Tennis Federation (ITF) as part of the latter’s overall development programmes.The circuits are run throughout the continent, and help players accumulate points that inform their rankings on the continent.Kenya has the highest number of entries – 50 players with some of the best ranked being Abdella Nedim at number 14 and Tate Harte Abigael at number 24.
