THE NSSF-KAMPALA Amateur Volleyball Club international volleyball tournament kicks off today in Kampala at three venues, namely; Lugogo, Makerere University Business School (MUBS) and Namboole.Rwandan teams have already arrived for the two-day international competition. They include INATEK and Kigali Volleyball Club in men’s category as well Rwanda Revenue Authority for the women.Other foreign teams that have confirmed participation are; The Young Club (DR Congo), Pham Warriors (South Sudan), Kenya Administration Police & Mt. Kenya University (Kenya). Others are the five-time African champions and the Genocide Memorial Volleyball Tournament winners Kenya Pipeline (women).Uganda will be represented by the hosts KAVC (men and women), Ndejje, KCCA (women).The competition regulations require local participating clubs to feature players registered in the Uganda Volleyball Federation League or who have played in the national schools competition.In men’s category Sport-S are the defending champions, while in women KCCA are reigning champions. In men’s category. Organizers KAVC have won the tourney five times (men), while in women category KAVC have won a record eight times. Rwanda’s KVC have won three times.
