Editor,The United Nations should be ashamed of themselves for the fact that the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi was committed in broad daylight under the watchful eyes of their so-called peacekeepers.It’s also a shame to the UN when they decide to team up with the likes of Sylvestre Mudacumura and other genocidaires or their collaborators while at the same time wrongly blame Rwanda for DR Congo’s mess, after keeping quiet when Rwanda was shelled by the same negative forces they support.Do human rights, according to UN, mean that some groups have more rights than others? What is UN’s definition for human rights? When the bodies of M23 soldiers were mutilated and desecrated by FARDC (Congolese army) in front of UN doorsteps, don’t the latter think it’s time they started rethinking of their alliance with FARDC?I hope the UN sides with peace by heeding to Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta’s advice that the former complements regional efforts to return peace to DRC through peaceful means.
