Rwanda’s junior national volleyball team yesterday evening headed to Turkey ahead of the U-21 World Junior Championships slated for August 22 to September 1 in the Turkish cities of Ankara and Izmir.The team is expected to land in Turkey today at 11.00am. The team will proceed to hold the first training session in the evening. Rwanda is drawn with Serbia, USA, Canada and Tunisia.According to the team’s head coach Paul Bitok, the team will play the first warm-up game against a yet to be known Turkish club on Thursday. In the last warm-up games played on Friday and Saturday, the junior national team beat Kigali Volleyball Club and a select All Star team 3-0 and 3-1 respectively.U21 team: Skipper Aimable ‘Ginho’ Mutuyimana, Musoni Fred, Fabrice Bahizi , Bonny Mutabazi, Yves Mutabazi and BarackRugira (all from APR), Ivan Mahoro Nsabimana, Nelson Murangwa (GSOB), Peter Bigirimana (INATEK), Patrick Rudakubana, Fred Muvunyi (Groupe St Joseph Kabgayi) and Samuel Nigisubizo Tyson (Kigali Volleyball Club).Bitok will be assisted by Leonard Nkunsi Shinani.
