Dear editor,There are a lot of questions asked when it comes to the extradition of Rwandan genocide fugitives who are in Europe. For a country like France, the arrested fugitives, are mostly retained and tried in their courts of law according to their own law. When requests for the extradition of the perpetrators are made, they are overruled. France’s explanation being, they need more time to weigh the cases first. What weighing scale are they going to use anyway? Is it France’s law, Rwandan law or the International law? In the case of Rwandan criminals, getting dropped at the Kanombe airport, to face the Rwandan court of law is the only answer. France needs to look at the example that Germany is showing. The arrested Rwandan fugitives in Germany are processed through their law and upon request of extradition. Germany agrees without any funny trickery as the case is with France.
