Egypt’s Aisha Hassan and South Sudan’s Khaman Maluach (NBA Academy Africa) have been named the Most Valuable Players of the 19th edition Basketball Without Borders Africa camp that concluded in Johannesburg, South Africa on Monday. The top prize, also known as Kim Bohuny BWB Africa 2023 MVP, goes to basketball prospects, male and female who have been outstanding during the four-day camp which took place in the American International School of Johannesburg. Hassan and Maluach were among 80 high-school aged top prospects from across the continent who were at the BWB Africa camp learning from NBA and WNBA current and former coaches and players. ALSO READ: Rwandan youngster Dusabe named Most Improved Player at BWB camp Besides the duo, Mozambique’s Shanaia Matusse and Chad’s Mahamat Tahir won the Patrick Baumann Sportsmanship Award while Rwanda’s Jane Dusabe was recognized with the B.J. Johnson BWB Africa 2023 Most Improved Player award. Following the final games of the camp, veteran NBA coach David Joerger and former NBA player Tacko Fall’s Aces were crowned the BWB Africa 2023 Girls champions while 2018 NBA Coach of the Year Dwane Casey and 2022 NBA champion Jonathan Kuminga’s Pistons were crowned the BWB Africa 2023 Boys champions.
