The 2007 Primus league trophy handover ceremony has been postponed, Times Sport reports. Ferwafa’s Chief Executive Officer, Jules Kalisa has said that the function which had initially been scheduled for this weekend has been postponed to October however the date couldn’t be established by press time. According to Kalisa, the handover was supposed to be held after a four-club tournament but that some of these clubs were not yet ready for the tournament. Ferwafa had organised a two-day tournament amongst the league’s top four clubs in commemoration of the Fifa cooperation day. “The tourney was jointly supposed to honour the Fifa international cooperation day (Saturday) as well as crown APR,” Kalisa said. APR will be officially crowned 2007 Primus league champions early next month. The military side who had tied with Rayon Sports on 59 points was named champions after a superior goal difference. This year’s league title took the club’s title tally to nine and secured their qualification for the 2008 African Champions League. The league completed an unprecedented treble for the military side after Kagame/Cecafa Club championship and Amahoro Cup successes. Rayon Sport will join APR as Rwanda’s representative in the 2008 African Confederations Cup. Ends
