The beauty who couldn’t cook

There was a girl every guy dreamed of marrying, but Daniel became the lucky guy. Daniel’s wife was beautiful and very smart and also the kindest person I knew in high school. Everyone admired her beauty and character. I remember thinking that God isn’t fair. How can one person be that perfect?She seemed almost too perfect, I mean, chocolate skin, small waist, huge hips, bright eyes and a dashing smile. ‘Wow’ was what guys murmured when they saw her; she was always jolly and willing to help her friends and even strangers if they ever needed her help. I always said she was heaven sent. In 2010, she told me she was getting married to Daniel. I felt he was the luckiest man alive. At the wedding, everyone was there because they wanted to see just how beautiful she would look in the wedding dress, and naturally, she was angelic! Most guys must have cried after the wedding, knowing she was now officially taken. After their three week honeymoon, they returned to their new home in Nyarutarama. The next day Daniel’s family paid them a visit and Daniel asked his beautiful wife to prepare dinner for them since they didn’t have a maid by then. She went to the market and bought all kinds of fruits then went home. She put the fruits in pans and waited. When it was time for dinner, she walked out of the kitchen with the fruits still in the pans. Daniel couldn’t hide his embarrassment but he tried to cover up by sheepishly saying their favourite dish was fruits.That night, they ate apples, oranges, mangoes, bananas, pineapples and other fruits while Daniel’s face grew red with rage, waiting for his family to leave so he could find out what got into his wife. After they left like around 10pm, Daniel yelled for her to show her face and explain why the hell she served fruits in pans for dinner. Daniel soon found out that this beautiful girl every guy wanted to marry couldn’t even boil a pot of water let alone put a whole meal together. Daniel was forced to send her back to her parents’ home to learn how to cook as he could not survive on fruits alone.
