THE Primus League champions Rayon Sports has set priorities to help the Nyanza-based club stage a successful campaign next season. And Rayon Sport’s rebuilding plans will not come easy as the team will need a minimum of six players to reinforce the squad, according to club chairman Mayor Abdallah Murenzi. The seven-time champions have already landed Burundian striker Abdul Razak Fiston from Diable Noire in Congo Brazzaville and are closing in on Cranes midfielder Joseph Mpande from SCVU in Uganda, Evaliste Mutuyimana from Police, SC Kiyovu defender Aimable Niyikizwa, Mukura defender Gabriel Mugabo Gaby, Isonga midfielder Robert Ndatimana and APR attacking midfielder Jean Claude Iranzi. “These are the players we fill can take the club to another competitive level. We have already talked to both players and their clubs let our intentions known, so what’s remaining is their feedback,” “Besides recruiting new players, we also hope to extend contracts of some of our senior players before the end of this month,” added Murenzi. Murenzi further added that since the club has a busy schedule next season, they plan to have an effective squad comprised of top quality players. Some of the Rayon Sports players whose contracts have run out include; skipper Aphrodis Hategikimana, Fuadi Ndayisenga, Karim Nzigiyimana and Faustin Usegimana.
