Dear Editor, I would like to urge fellow Rwandans to simply live and spend their money according to earnings. It is rather embarrassing for some one to opt for an expensive meal yet the pocket reflects otherwise. On Monday this week, a workmate insisted that we go to Bourbon coffee for a meal. Knowing the salary scale of our company, he would have been able to afford meals in this place only if he had borrowed money. Having enjoyed a heavy meal, he checked his pockets with a doubtful face that there could be enough money. I guessed right. He had less than what we were supposed to pay. If it wasn’t for the extra cash I had, God knows what kind of embarrassment we would have gotten ourselves into. It is important to carry extra money even when someone promises to take you out and clear the whole bill. But it is also important that people (especially men) spend according to their pockets.
