Rwanda U19 volleyball national team lost their opening game against European giant France 3-0 at the 2013 World Youth Championships in Tijuana, Mexico.France stormed past Jean Marie Nsengiyumva’s debutants to claim an easy straight-set win, 25-16, 25-12, and 25-18 in the second match of Pool C. France’s Jean Patry was the lone player to finish the match with double figures in the scoring charts with 11 tallies. Nicolas Szerszen, Sebastian Roatta and Timothee Carle contributed 9, 8 and 7 points respectively. Rwanda’s top producer was Robert Nishimiyimana, who finished with eight points. Szerszen had five of the nine aces recorded by the winners, while Roatta added three. France out blocked Rwanda 8-0. In same group Finland, who faces Rwanda on Saturday (today) lost 3-2 to Iran (25-15, 25-18, 21-25, 25-27, 15-8). In other matches; Poland beat Tunisia 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, and 25-21), China beat Mexico 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, and 25-18), Chile beat Japan 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, and 25-22).Turkey got off the a winning start against Cuba 3-0 (25-23, 29-27, 25-21), United States won against Algeria 3-1 (23-25, 25-16, 28-26, 25-17) and Korea beat Egypt 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-20).
