What would you do if you found your friends fiancée kissing another man? And not just kissing but downright lip to lip and seriously engrossed in the moment without a care in the world? Well, this is what happened to me early this week. It made me ask myself why such a person would risk so much for so little. Why do people (and I know many) go as far as sleeping with their ex or even other people days before they get married? Cold feet? Last misdemeanor? Simply bored? What???I have a friend who was in a relationship for over four years. Though they loved each other deeply but they wanted different things in life (you know how couples are!). The lady wanted to get married while the man was quite comfortable with the way things were. Eventually they agreed to disagree – the man came up with a brilliant proposal and told her that since he wasn’t into marriage, she was free to run along and marry someone else if she ever got the chance.They broke up eventually and just a few months later, the guy received a wedding invitation card. I was shocked however to learn that before her wedding day, the girl came back to the guy with a phobia for marriage for some ‘goodbye’ sex. The manner in which the guy explained the rendezvous to me suggested that to him, and to the chick, there was simply nothing wrong with what they did. In fact by the look of things, I suspect they won’t be stopping their naughty behavior anytime soon.My question is, how can you start your marriage that way? How do you start a marriage with lies and infidelity and think it will work out? I’ve seen and heard many couples who actually even brag about it, like it’s something to be proud of! Others joke about it then go ahead to put their jokes into practice.Cheating on your partner will cause you nothing but heartbreak. Nothing good can come of it. Even if your spouse chooses to forgive you, the emotional trauma you put them through is enough to cloud their minds with doubt and they will be incapable of trusting you again. Plus, they will never miss an opportunity to assure you how badly you screwed up. It will take you a lifetime to go back to the way you were! If you ask me, that is a heavy price to pay.
