Atraco and APR maintained their hopes of winning the league title while Rayon Sport won to cement their third place on the table. Title favorites Atraco maintained their lead on top of the league table with a 4-1 victory over Electrogaz at Nyamirambo stadium. Abedi Mulenda scored a brace (20 and 70) while Ugandan born pair of Michael Sebalinga (10) and Hamis Kitagenda (79) scored the other goals. Saidi Ndumwe scored the consolation for Electrogaz. With two rounds of matches remaining, Atraco’s victory moved them to 50 points, four ahead of second placed and defending champions APR. The champions beat AS Kigali 3-0 courtesy of Elias Uzamukunda (20) Jean Baptista Mugiraneza (30) and Masudi Kaka (90). Rayon Sport cemented their hold on third place with a hard fought 2-1 win over Military Fc at Mironko ground. Jean Lomami and Abdul Uwimana were on target for the Blues while Christian Uwumukiza was on target for Military. And after being held to a 1-1 draw by relegation threatened Etincelles at Mumena grounds, Kiyovu’s will end yet another season trophy-less.
