Rayon FixturesJuly 14Rayon v URAJuly 17Rayon v SIDJuly 20Rayon v Denden Rayon Sport head coach Raoul Shungu has ruled out his club chances of winning this year’s Cecafa/Kagame Club Championships set for July 12-26 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The Congolese-born tactician doubted his club chances of winning silverware in this year’s event due to lack of quality players and the poor organization within the club hierarchy. Shungu told Times Sport yesterday, “I have seven of my best players out of the country due to poor organization from club management.” “Rayon is a club whose players are always in Goma playing other leagues instead of putting concentration on what they are paid to do here,” Shungu cried, adding that the club has no defined rules governing the players. “How can players just go anyhow from the club without anyone’s notice or even take action when they find out,” he wondered. Shungu, who is under pressure from both his bosses and the fans alike to bring success to the club, has spent more time dealing with players who AWOL (Away without Official Leave) than concentrating on putting in better performances for the team. Players currently missing in the blues’ camp include top striker Labama Kamana Bokota, Albert Nyumbayire, Kalisa Kase, Taribo Emma, Cyril Pizzolera, Geremi Dusenge and Ndume Wa Ndume. Shungu appeals to the club administrators to either force out the players from Goma or else he resigns to take up better offers elsewhere. Ends
