Editor,The author of this article makes a good case about the students but I have couple of points to raise.First, I don’t support the behaviours and reasons of those fleeing students but I would like to say that schools and the Ministry of Education, who registered these students, are partly responsible for this problem and should own up to it.Before students sit for exams, they have to register. This involves submission of grades /reports from previous schools or recommendations. I want to assume the schools and the Ministry of Education never paid attention to the registration process. If the schools screened the students or if the Ministry inspected the schools regularly, we wouldn’t have this problem.Again for some time private coaching has been an ongoing programme for so many people, so who authorised these schools? Can we be sure that the people/students who went through this programme before met all the requirements? I think schools and the Ministry have a lot to explain.Lastly, I have simple advise for the fleeing students: Come back home, register into schools and study again; you are not going to have shortcuts in life all the time and fleeing your country is not going to help you much.To the schools and the Ministry of Education, you need to do more checks with schools, you need to screen more before you approve registration of students or schools.
