RWANDAN representatives APR and Rayon Sport head to Sudan this afternoon ahead of the Cecafa-Kagame cup 2013 set to kick off in the City of Kadugli in North Kordofan on Tuesday.Both sets of players from the respective teams and their officials will depart aboard Kenya Airways at 13.00 hours to Nairobi, where they will connect to Khartoum later in the evening.They will spend a night in Khartoum before embarking on a chartered plane to Al Fasher, the capital city of North Darfur on Tuesday morning.The new 25,000 seater Stadium in Kadugli was being spruced for the opening ceremony which will start at noon on Tuesday before the opening match between hosts El Hilal (Kadugli) and Uganda’s URA. Al Fashir, the capital of North Darfur will host the final on 1st July where the State Government has organised an elaborate programme.Nasr locked out of the tournamentSouth Sudan club El Nasr has been also locked out of Cecefa Kagame cup for withdrawing officially and re-applying through their Government. The development was confirmed yesterday by Cecafa Secretary General Nicholas Musonye.After withdrawing due to unknown reasons, El Nasr confirmed their participation again through a letter written by South Sudan’s Ministry of foreign affairs and international cooperation to the Sudanese embassy in Juba.“We have already made a new programme regarding the competition and we can’t change it again. “South Sudan FA made it in writing that they will not honour the competition. We have rules to follow,” added Musonye who was reacting to a letter from the South Sudan Foreign Ministry which El Nasr used to re-apply to compete in the tournament.El Nasr follows Tanzanian clubs; Yanga and Simba as well as Super Falcons of Zanzibar who pulled out of the tournament and later wanted to compete on the last hour, a feat which forced Cecafa to deny them competing in the tournament.The teams participating are: Group A - El Merreikh El Fasher [Sudan], APR (Rwanda), Vital’O (Burundi), Elman (Somalia), Group C has El Hilal Kadougli [Sudan], URA (Uganda) and Al Shandy (Sudan), Group B has Express (Uganda), Rayon (Rwanda), Ports (Djibouti) and Electric Sport (Chad).
