Umubano Hotel for Rwf6.5b renovation

The Libyan government has earmarked over $10m (about Rwf6.5b) for the renovation of Hotel Umubano in Kacyiru, Kigali.  The hotel has been in a sorry state since the outbreak of the Libyan Revolution that ousted the fallen leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011. The hotel is managed by Soptrotel, which is co-owned by Rwandan government, 40 per cent shares, and Libya, with a 60 per cent majority shareholding.
