Minister advises youth to remain focused

Youth have been advised to be open-minded and take advantage of the prevailing opportunities so as to succeed in their undertakings.The call was made by the Minister for Youth and ICT, Jean Phillibert Nsengimana while addressing youth representatives, including guild presidents from higher learning institutions, district sports and culture officers as well as national youth representatives during the 16th Youth General Assembly in Kigali last week.“In everything you do, you need to have clear position so that you achieve more as society needs you to transform and make it better than it is today,” the minister said.He called upon the youth to be pro-active in decision making without being afraid of failure.“Do not be afraid of failing as we learn from our failures to succeed. We want the youth who will become pillars of society and bring development,” Nsengimana added.Phillibert Uwiringiyimana, National Youth Council coordinator, said youth had made some remarkable contribution to the country’s development.“We can ensure that where we go is not too far from where we have come, all we need is to work hard and find the solution of our problems without depending on others,” he said.“We believe we can change society through determination,” he added.The meeting was meant to discuss and take measures to strengthen socio- economic development through building peace and reconciliation among Rwandans; sharing experience and learn from each other on how to generate more wealth among others.
