AMAVUBI STARS assistant coach Jean Baptiste Kayiranga has signed a one-year renewable contract with Primus League new entrants Gicumbi FC.The former SC Kiyovu coach signed the contract on Thursday before jetting out with national team for their 2014 World Cup qualifier against Mali due on Sunday in Bamako.Gicumbi FC chairman Fidèle Hakizimana confirmed the development yesterday. He said; “We have agreed a one-year contract which may be renewed at the end of next season.”“We believe he is the best man to take this club forward, he is a highly respected coach, with vast experience in the top flight division, who we believe would be able to steer the team to reach its targets next season,” added Hakizimana.Kayiranga will be assisted by Justin Kamanzi, the former coach of second division outfit Etoile de l’Est.Jean Paul Kalisa a.k.a Mourinho, who helped the team earn promotion to the Primus League, was appointed the new team manager.After guiding SC Kiyovu to the summit of the Primus League in the first half of last season, Kayiranga resigned citing ‘unending financial problems’ that had shaken the club.Gicumbi and Espérance were promoted to the Primus League for the 2013/14 season, replacing relegated Etincelles and Isonga FC respectively.
