The poor lad vs the rich guy

I was totally broke and there is this rich guy that always wanted to take my girlfriend out for lunch at a big hotel. Well I wasn’t ready for this to happen so I took the initiative to take my girlfriend there first. At the time, I only had Rwf200 in my pockets yet I had to get Rwf15,000 to have a hearty meal at that hotel. This was around the time when MTN was starting simcard registration and were looking for agents. A friend of mine came and told me about the job so we went and applied. Sadly the salary was low. But it wasn’t going to take so long as I targeted only 200 people to have my dinner date going. Being a student at KIST, I decided to start with students at KIST. I actually got thirty people on the first day. I was doing quite well. In my mind, I thought of taking her on a date twice. I had Rwf2400 at the time and waited for the next day. The day after was even better, I registered 50 students. Damn! I was doing so well that I couldn’t even believe it myself. But I always did this in hiding and didn’t want people in my class to know. That night I went to see my girlfriend and was shocked when she asked me if I was the guy registering simcards. I vehemently denied. The next day she asked her friend for the number of the guy that registers simcards and they called me on her friend’s phone. I told them to meet me at the top floor of the farthest building in KIST to keep my cover. To my dismay I saw my girlfriend. Don’t ask me what happened next but I left with a torn shirt. She actually went on a date with the rich guy first, though till today she has refused to admit that it was a date. She says it was just dinner. Well, I also got myself someone with the little money I made. They say tit for tat is a fair game. Mine went beyond fair because I got a lot more than just a dinner date from a cute lady.
