Members of the African Parliamentary Network have called for concerted efforts to uproot gender based corruption, which has remained a threat because it is never reported. The lawmakers made the observation during a meeting organised by Transparent International Rwanda in Musanze District to discuss how to minimise this vice in the country early this week “We have engaged different people and we identified various instances of gender-based corruption, including employers who still ask jobseekers to sleep with them before they consider them for employment,” said MP Adolphe Bazatoha from the network’s Rwanda chapter. Participants appreciated the step Rwanda has taken in fighting graft but said gender based corruption is hard to identify because both sides are not willing to go public with the information.
