Kagame calls on citizens to cultivate self esteem

MUHANGA - President Paul Kagame has advised Rwandans to have self esteem if they are to expect any respect from other people. He said this yesterday at the country’s 14th Liberation Day anniversary celebration which was merged with Independence Day, at Muhanga, Southern Province. Rwanda celebrates its independence from Belgium on July 1 while the liberation that put an end to the 1994 Tutsi Genocide and left over a million Rwandans dead, falls on July 4. “You will first have to maintain the value you put in yourself. It is the only way for development, knowing that no one will choose what is better for us,” Kagame told thousands who had gathered for the event.
